Recently, the CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China) issued a notice on the amendment of the compulsory certification rules of baby carriages, electric toys, plastic toys, metal toys, projectile toys, baby toys, etc.
        Amended rules further clarify the technical requirements of relevant products, simplify the relevant certification procedures, shorten certification period and increase content about the classification management of certified toy manufacturing enterprises, the valid period of the certification, etc. Meanwhile, individual elements of original rules are modified in respect of corrigenda. The amended rules are the Implementation Rules of Compulsory Certification of Baby Carriage Products, Implementation Rules of Compulsory Certification of Electric Toy Products, Implementation Rules of Compulsory Certification of Plastic Toys, Implementation Rules of Compulsory Certification of Metal Toys and Implementation Rules of Compulsory Certification of Baby Toys”.
        For toys applied for the certification after January 1, 2011, the certification shall follow these new rules while for the toys applied for certification before January 1, 2011, the certification may follow these new rules or those original rules.To facilitate enterprises, toy products gained the certification following those original rules need not to apply for new certification. As for the certified toy products in accordance with the rules of the old version, the certifications shall spontaneously switch into the new ones under the joint supervision and review of specified certification bodies since the issuance of these amended rules.
